Declan is inspired by his dad because he is his biggest role model and someone he looks up to every day. Most importantly, his dad has shown him that being a great athlete is about more than winning—it’s about being a good teammate, leader, friend, and person.
Last year while the football team was running he went back and ran with a kid who was all the way at the end and the last kid. He saw the kid was struggling and on his own joined him until he was done. Now the whole team does it.
