What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Demetris loves the leading role and the contact of the game. He’s a natural born leader, rather it’s taking the initiative to help someone critic their game or seeing something different and having the courage to step and suggest to the coach what he sees and feel in the field. Demetris has been through a lot and steps up a lot at home, being raised by a single mom. I feel the contact part is his way of letting out some anger and frustration he may deal with.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

I would say his biggest inspiration would be Tom Brady. About 3/4 years old when he begin to show interest in football his dad was a Brady fan so Demetris picked up on things he would see and hear Tom Brady says. The workout, the food and even quarterback being his favorite position.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

It was his first year as QB1. The play required him to through sooooo far.. was last quarter and basically last play, not much time left on the clock and we’re down 3 points. When Demetris is nervous I can see it in his face and he doesn’t talk. He gets the water listen to the coach head back to his position. Needless to say he threw it and the play was successful. Scoring and winning the game.
