What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreDemoye loves being part of a team the most. Whether he is representing his school or sports club, he loves the idea of being a part of a unit. Being part of a unit fosters the idea of learning and ignites fire within Demoye. He learns from others and help others learn. He is often seen teaching his little sister how to play soccer and basketball. Track and field gives him the opportunity to challenge himself.
Lamine Yamal inspires Demoye. Lamine is a young athlete who displays great sportsmanship and often publicly broadcasts the love he has for the sport, his team and his family. Demoye is also inspired by himself. He tries to be better everyday; mentally, physically, and spiritually. He is his own competition and strives to be better than he was the day before.
During a game, Demoye got injured. He was able to complete the game and manage to score a goal. Although he could not participate in the next game due to his injury, he insisted on going anyway to show support. We were so proud of him for taking the initiative to still contribute and show up for his team.
