What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What my son love about playing his sports is the opportunity to challenge himself, competition and the opportunity to keep getting better every day. Each sport he participates in allows him to grow as an athlete and as a person. What stands out is the joy, comfy and a sense of purpose it brings to his life. Track has taught him that success is earned through consistency, discipline and effort. Football gives him a different excitement. He loves being part of a team and building strong rapport.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My son is inspired by his family, coaches and the people who continue to support him. Watching the hard woman’s sacrifices made for him motivates him to give his best every time he steps on the track or football field. He is inspired by those who never give up, stay committed, and push through challenges. Their support reminds him to keep working, stay humble, stay coachable, and continue growing as a student athlete and as a person.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me the proudest is seeing my son overcome adversity. During youth football, he has to adjust to being part of a new team, which challenged him to step outside his comfort zone and grow. This track season, he faced another setback when he had to leave his previous team and find a new one. Watching him stay focused, keep working, and not let those experiences define him showed his true character, resilience, and determination.
