What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Dev loves basketball because it combines competition, teamwork, and the constant challenge to improve. He loves the energy of the game, competing alongside his teammates, and knowing every practice is a chance to get better. Playing football, soccer, cross-country, and track has made him stronger, faster, and more resilient, but basketball is where his passion comes together and where he feels most at home.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Dev is most inspired by his dad, Dhruv, who has taught him that success comes from hard work, consistency, humility, and how you treat others. His dad is also his biggest supporter, taking him to countless practices and games, recording his games, and sitting down with him afterward to talk through what went well and where he can improve. Through his example, Dev has learned to embrace feedback, keep working, and value the journey as much as the outcome.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of our proudest moments was watching Dev compete in his 8th grade district tournament while battling a sprained ankle. He knew his team was counting on him, and rather than focus on the injury, he focused on doing whatever he could to help his teammates. He went on to score a career-high 19 points and helped his team finish third in the district. We were proud of the points, but even prouder of the resilience, heart, and commitment to his team that he showed when things were difficult.
