What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Drew loves being a goalkeeper because he thrives on the pressure and challenge of the position and takes pride in knowing his team is counting on him. There is nothing he loves more than making a big save when the game is on the line. Soccer pushes him to work harder, get stronger, and continually improve. He also loves being part of a team and competing alongside his teammates.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Drew is inspired by Jesus, who made the ultimate sacrifice by dying for our sins and whose strength, faith, and love guide him both on and off the field. He is also inspired by his father, who was a goalkeeper and played at the collegiate level. His dad has been a great example for Drew, teaching him through his own experience about hard work, perseverance, leadership, and dedication to the game.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments was watching Drew earn the starting varsity goalkeeper position as a sophomore. I know how much work, determination, and time he put into reaching that goal. Watching his dedication lead to opportunities to train at an even higher level has made me incredibly proud. More than his accomplishments, I’m proud of the young man and teammate he continues to become.
