What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Baseball is truly his passion. He loves everything about the game—the action, competition, teamwork, and simply being on the field. He’s always eager to practice and looks for every opportunity to improve his skills. He’s often the first one on the field and the last one to leave because he genuinely loves the game. He gives his all every time he plays and is always there to encourage and support his teammates.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My son is inspired by his dad and Shohei Ohtani. His dad played collegiate baseball, and he looks up to his work ethic, dedication, and love for the game. The countless hours they spend practicing together motivate him to keep improving. He also admires Ohtani for his incredible talent, humility, and determination, especially his ability to excel as both a hitter and pitcher. Both inspire him to work hard, stay humble, and always give his best.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments had nothing to do with a hit or winning a game. A teammate made a mistake and was visibly upset. Eli noticed, walked over, encouraged him, and reminded him to keep his head up because everyone makes mistakes. Watching him show that kind of compassion and sportsmanship meant more to me than any trophy or championship.
