Eli is inspired by his faith in Jesus because Jesus means so much to his family. He said that is on and off the field. Off the field, his faith keeps him positive, driven, and genuinely happy. On the field, Jesus protects, teaches, and creates opportunities for a great future.
One year, he got injured during the summer and broke a bone in his foot. He had to wear a boot and every day, he still showed up to every practice without complaint. He helped out. He stood with his coaches and learned. The following year he got the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
