What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat Emerie loves most about gymnastics is the people and experiences that make the sport so special. She is incredibly grateful for her amazing teammates, who have become like family, and her coaches, who constantly encourage, support, and push her to grow. She treasures the memories made at practices and competitions and values the life lessons gymnastics has taught her, including perseverance, confidence, dedication, and the importance of never giving up.
Who inspires Emerie most in her sport is her coaches, her mom, and her dad, and just all her teammates along the way. They always give me reasons to smile, they cheer me on, and they always make sure I remember that a bad day doesn’t define the gymnast I am!
The moment I was proudest of was making it to Nationals and placing after everything I had been through. After hurting my knee, I was told I might never do gymnastics again, and hearing that was heartbreaking because gymnastics means so much to me. Instead of giving up, I worked hard, stayed determined, and fought my way back. Standing at Nationals and placing was an unforgettable moment that showed me that setbacks do not have to define my story. I was proud of how far I had come.
