Join the CompetitionEmma enjoys playing sports as It’s a fun way to stay active and healthy, it motivates her to work harder, get stronger and to see how far she can go. And what she loves the most is being surrounded by other athletes AKA her friends.
Her gym teacher Lindsay, also known as neighbour, also known as sister’s coach for Ringette, soccer & baseball. Lindsay is definitely someone Emma looks up to and is inspired by. She is a strong athlete who is involved in teaching and coaching many sports within our community. When Lindsay isn’t coaching Emma directly, she often has Emma volunteer alongside her to help with the younger kids. Emma really enjoys these opportunities and looks up to Lindsay as both an athlete and a mentor.
It would have to be how she helped coach her little sister’s ringette team. She showed up to every practice, never missed a game, and was always there to encourage and help the younger players. Watching her take on that responsibility and give her time to help the kids was incredibly rewarding. To me, it was a perfect example of how being involved in sports can help build confidence, leadership, responsibility, and strong, caring human beings.
