What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Eric’s passion is baseball, and while he loves every part of the game, what stands out most is the shared joy of winning as a team. He thrives on the energy of his teammates, coaches, and fans, and is fully engaged whether on the mound or at third base. For Eric, victory isn’t just about individual success—it’s about everyone coming together, working hard, and celebrating the moment as one happy family.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Eric’s biggest inspiration is his Pop Hann. A former All-Star third baseman on Newfoundland’s first national championship softball team, Pop built his success through grit, determination and passion—not fancy equipment. Growing up on a small, remote island in Newfoundland, he learned early that hard work matters most. Eric has grown up learning from him both on and off the field. Pop has taught him that heart, commitment and effort are what truly create success—not only in sports, but in life.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Three years ago, Eric was placed in Single-A after All-Star tryouts, despite expecting Double-A. After a brief disappointment, he chose not to quit, even when I gave him an out. Instead, he asked me to contact the head of the association to review his results and identify areas to improve. Eric committed to high-performance training and has since built his skills and confidence, playing AAA ever since. His choice to grow through adversity is what makes me proudest.
