He gets very excited about being part of his basketball team, and even getting a few minutes of playing time fills him with happiness. He is always waiting for the opportunity to get on the court and play. It means a lot to him to have the chance to contribute to his team, even if he only gets a few minutes of playing time.
He was inspired by his older brother, who also plays basketball. Little by little, he taught himself how to play. At the age of 9, he became interested in basketball on his own. Through videos, he discovered NBA players and teams, and eventually chose his favorite player and favorite team. He taught himself how to dribble and shoot by practicing on his own.
Usually, most children start playing sports at a younger age because their parents get them involved in recreational sports. However, Esteban started on his own, driven by his own ideas, curiosity, and passion for basketball. He would go outside with a basketball, use the neighbor’s hoop, and practice shooting and dribbling. His passion for basketball is so strong that he dreams of becoming a NBA player someday.
