What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

As much as Evelyne is competitive and gives everything she’s got to help out her teammates, she is also very inclusive, gentle, sweet and funny. Because of this, I would say that the teamwork and friendships are her favorite part of playing sports. She thrives on making everyone shine and feel happy and comfortable on the field or on the stage, even helping with the little ones. Selfless, she will make the pass and be the unsung hero to better her team.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

There is a local dancer who’s only 14 and she is an outstanding dancer and the kindest human being. Very humble with her exploding talents. I would say she is her biggest inspiration. She loves to watch her dance and listens to her advice and recommendations. But she often dances for her grandfather whom she loved very much and passed away last year. She plays many soccer games and performs her dances trying to make him proud of all of her achievements.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

We recently attended a very big competition in a big city with hundreds of elite dancers and Evelyne was chosen out of many as a favourite from one of the judges. As she spoke to my daughter she explained that in those minutes she can tell how much passion, effort, dedication and hard work goes in her dancing. Evelyne always listens and applies corrections without resentment. She’s the hardest worker I know, all while being excellent in everything she does yet stays humble and encouraging.
