What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Faiy has been dancing since the tender age of two and currently trains with Excalibur Theatre Arts. Dance has truly become part of who she is. She trains in many genres, including contemporary, ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern and lyrical, and loves how each allows her to express and challenge herself. She loves performing and competing, but is just as happy putting in the work in the studio. She’s always creating, learning and looking for ways to grow, but most of all she loves her dance family.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Faiy is inspired by her teachers, teammates and the dancers she has had the opportunity to learn from throughout her journey. She admires people who work hard while remaining humble, kind and supportive of others. They inspire her not only to become a stronger dancer, but to be the kind of person who encourages and lifts up those around her.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Watching Faiy earn the opportunity to represent Canada at the Dance World Cup and represent her region at Provincials has been incredibly special. But what makes me proudest is everything behind those achievements, the countless hours of training, the extra studio time she seeks out on her own, and her determination to continually improve. Her accomplishments are amazing, but her dedication, humility and love for dance make me proudest.
