What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreGabe loves the physical competition of football, but what he values most is who the game has helped him become. Football has taught him that success is earned through discipline, hard work, resilience, and putting the team before yourself. He loves competing alongside his teammates, pushing himself to improve every day, and learning lessons about leadership and character that he knows will stay with him long after his final game.
Gabe is inspired by those who lead through hard work, sacrifice, and service, especially our military members. As the son of a Navy veteran and future Naval Academy student, he believes in serving something bigger than himself. His parents, siblings, and coaches have shaped who he is today. Now, as the youngest of four and an uncle to five, Gabe hopes to lead by example and be someone his nieces and nephews can look up to.
What makes me proudest is not that Gabe earned 12 Division I offers, but what he chose to do with those opportunities. After 18 months of hard work, he chose the U.S. Naval Academy, looking beyond NIL money and football to his education, future, and the opportunity to serve. He understands football will not last forever. Watching him make such a mature decision while continuing to support his teammates showed me the young man and leader he has become.
