What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Figure skating started as a fun activity for Gabi but quickly became her passion. She loves expressing herself, challenging herself with new elements, and connecting with others who share her love of the sport. Most of all, she loves performing. This season, she skated to Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy,” creating a fun, energetic program with her coaches that ended in her signature knee slide into a split. She finished the season with 1st place at the 2026 State Games of America.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Gabi is inspired by her coaches and fellow skaters, who encourage her to work hard, challenge herself, and keep improving. One of her biggest inspirations is her coach, who attended the same high school as Gabi. Her coach has helped her understand that success isn’t about comparing herself to others, but about focusing on her own skills, progress, and goals. Watching her coach and fellow skaters has taught Gabi to believe in herself, celebrate her growth, and most importantly enjoy skating!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the moments that makes me proudest is how Gabi responded after Excel Nationals. She missed a required element and finished fourth, and while she was initially disappointed, she quickly changed her perspective. She realized winning every time isn’t what matters most. At her next competition, she focused on skating clean and enjoying her performance. She came off the ice with the biggest smile, and I was incredibly proud of her growth, resilience, and confidence.
