What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves everything about football—the competition, the teamwork, the challenge and the feeling of getting better every time he steps on the field. But what he loves most is being part of a team. He genuinely gets excited when his teammates succeed and is always encouraging them to keep going. Football has taught him confidence, discipline and responsibility, but it has also given him a chance to discover the leader he is becoming.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His biggest inspiration is his family, especially the people who believe in him even when the journey gets difficult. He is also inspired by athletes who started with a dream and worked relentlessly to make it a reality. I want him to understand that talent can open a doors, but character, discipline and perseverance are what keep you moving forward. As his mom, I’m proud to be in his corner, supporting him through every win, loss, lesson and milestone.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me proudest isn’t necessarily one particular win or accomplishment. It’s watching him continue to show up, even when things are difficult. Seeing him work, learn from mistakes, push through disappointment and come back determined reminds me that this journey is about so much more than sports. I’m proud of the athlete he is becoming, but even more proud of the person he is becoming through the process. Being able to support him anyway I can is truly an honor.
