She loves competing, pushing herself to improve, and building lifelong friendships with her teammates. As a captain, she enjoys encouraging others, celebrating their success, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued. Winning is rewarding, but helping her team grow together is what means the most to her.
My mom inspires me the most because she shows me what hard work, resilience, and unconditional love look like every day. She always believes in me, pushes me to be my best, and reminds me that my character matters more than any win or award. Watching her overcome challenges while continuing to support our family has taught me to never give up and to always lead with kindness and determination.
One of the proudest moments in her athletic journey was watching her score a goal from midfield after years of selflessly setting up her teammates. She’s always been the first to make the extra pass and celebrate someone else’s success. Seeing her confidently take the shot and score reminded me that she had learned when to lead, when to trust herself, and that putting the team first doesn’t mean forgetting your own abilities.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
