What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Gio loves the excitement of competing, learning new skills, and being part of a team. He loves challenging himself and seeing how much he can improve with practice and hard work. Whether he is playing soccer or trying another sport, he enjoys being active, having fun, and pushing himself to do his best!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Lamine Yamal inspires Gio not only because of his incredible talent but also because of where he came from. Despite growing up in a family that struggled financially, Yamal never forgot the people who helped him along the way. His humility, gratitude, and determination show Gio that success isn’t about where you start… it’s about working hard, staying grounded, and remembering those who believed in you.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the moments that makes me proudest is watching Gio have the courage to leave what was comfortable and join a new soccer club. Trying new teams/environments can be scary, but he chose to challenge himself instead of settling. He stepped onto new fields, met new teammates, and kept pushing himself to improve, even when it was uncomfortable. Seeing him make that choice fearlessly and never give up has shown me that he is learning to trust himself, embrace challenges & focused on his goals.
