I believe my 15-year-old son deserves to be considered for Athlete of the Year because he represents so much more than athletic talent.
You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year to take home $25,000 and represent 3Brand in Sports Illustrated and on CBS
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat my son loves most about his sport is being part of a team. He enjoys building relationships with his teammates, encouraging one another, working toward a common goal, and knowing that everyone has an important role to play. He loves the feeling of being surrounded by people who challenge him to work harder and become better. Being part of a team has taught him the importance of communication, trust, accountability, and supporting others, even when things do not go as planned.
Giovoni is inspired by his grandfather who passed away a few years ago. He uses him as his biggest motivation.
My proudest moment was watching him play in his first Nike tournament. This is something that he’s talked about doing for years. To see him get to that level was amazing.
