As a 7th grader, Harlan started out on his high school’s Jr. Varsity team but was then asked to also play as a starter on the Varsity team.

His biggest inspiration is, was, and always has been his friend Landry. Unfortunately Landry passed away from a motorcycle accident last summer. Harlan never hesitates to tell anyone that Landry was his Best Friend. Harlan grew up in the car community and a lot of older boys took him in and treated him like a little brother. But Landry went above and beyond teaching him how to drive and being his mentor, someone he could go to for anything. Harlan wants to be that for others who need someone.
Harlan suffered a severe concussion at the beginning of this season. We were told that he may not get to play the sport again. This just motivated him to defy the odds. He was able to get back on the field and have his best season yet. He is now mentoring a younger boy who also wants nothing more than to be a catcher. I’m so lucky to be his momma.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
