What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Harper says, “I like staying fit and active, but I’d say my favorite is being able to practice with my friends [teammates] so that we can win on game day!”

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom. She started working out a couple of years ago and showed me that if you really want something sometimes you have to work real hard for it but it’s worth it in the end. And she always lets me try any sport I want.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

This year she made a competitive volleyball team. I was proud of her for working hard to improve her skills, but what made me proud the most was the fact that she was nervous to the point of debating trying out, but had the courage to face her fears. It had helped build more confidence in her! To see her become a leader and positive encourager to her teammates makes me proud of the young lady she’s becoming!
