What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Hayden started watching Chiefs games with her dad and soon began asking, “Can girls play football too?” Once she got on the field, she found much more than a sport. She found her girls. Hayden loves winning, but she loves the huddles, high fives, hugs and friendships even more. She plays quarterback and linebacker, but her favorite moments aren't always her own. She's often the first one running to hug a teammate after a touchdown and the loudest one cheering when someone else gets the glory.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Taylor Swift inspires Hayden to be bold, fierce and unafraid to be herself. But meeting Madison Fulford and other U.S. flag football players showed her what kind of athlete she wants to become. They came to watch the KC Swifties and stayed the entire game, answering questions, cheering from their sideline and running the team flag after touchdowns. Hayden learned that greatness isn't just how far you go. It's remembering to turn around and inspire the girls coming behind you.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The KC Swifties went viral. Travis Kelce discovered their team. Hayden met athletes she now dreams of following someday. But my proudest moments weren't those big ones. They're watching her hug a teammate who scored, high-five a friend she just competed against and lose with grace. Hayden dreams of playing in high school, college & maybe even the Olympics. I don't know how far sports will take her, but I already know what kind of teammate she'll be when she gets there. I'm proudest of her heart.
