What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves seeing friends outside of school in a fun but competitive environment. He likes being part of a team. He likes being depended on, but also being able to depend on others. Over the years he has come to appreciate the beauty of the game. When it all clicks and they accomplish things they only dreamed of doing as a team. Its not just about the individual.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Naturally, his coaches inspire him, but also his older brother who played soccer as well through college. He watched his brother fight through a live adversity during his high school years to achieve his dream of playing for a college as well as a pro-am team. His parents too. Both are heavily involved from coaching, to being referees and most importantly supporting him, pushing him and celebrating him.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There isn’t just one moment. The reality is he makes me proud almost every time he steps on the field. One thing that he does that stands out it simply his sportsmanship. He helps opponents up off the ground. He treats his opponents respectfully and is always complementing the refs. He compliments teammates, supports them when they make mistakes and keeps a perspective of what really matters.
