What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He says “I love that my sports are fun and that I’ve made so many friends from playing them. I like being part of a team, working hard together, and cheering for my teammates. I also like getting to work out, get stronger, and see myself get better at things I’ve been practicing.”

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Saquon Barkley and Travis Konecny inspire me because I love watching how hard they play and how much they compete. I also really look up to the Penn State football and wrestling teams. I like how hard they work and how they compete for their teammates. One of my biggest goals is to work hard enough to play a sport at Penn State someday.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I’m proud of every medal and accomplishment, but my proudest moments are watching the kind of teammate he chooses to be. He never gives up, even when the competition gets tough, but he also notices when someone else is struggling. He’s the first to check on his goalie after a hard game or encourage a teammate after a tough match. At 9, I’m most proud that he already understands being a great athlete isn’t just about winning, it’s about how you show up for your team.
