What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Isla truly treasures the friendships, both new and old she's built through gymnastics. She's loves how they all push and motivate each other to persevere against all the challenges they face. She loves to travel to compete and display all of her hard work over the season. Isla absolutely thrives at pushing herself to achieve a goal she sets out. Isla loves her coaches, she has had some of the best over her years of training.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Isla is motivated and inspired every training session by her close friend Hannah Dawson-North, who competed in the Canadian finals for team Ontario this year. Isla says she's empowered by her friends Reese and Georgia Wilson. They have both earned scholarships to compete at a post secondary level in the USA. Ellie Black is also a gymnast who truly inspires Isla to be the best she can be. To Isla, these 4 gymnasts are positive, kind, encouraging and inclusive like she has always aspired to be.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I was so incredibly proud when Isla earned the top spot on Team Ontario to compete at the Easter Canadian Championships this year. This however is not what makes me the most proud of Isla. The consistent feedback from coaches at her club and from other clubs at competition regarding Isla's positive attitude, work ethic, thoughtfulness towards other athletes and overall kindness to everyone she meets is truly what makes me the most proud.
