What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Ivan loves baseball and everything that comes with it—the highs and the lows, the heartbreak and the joy. When he’s on the field, he’s at his very best. He is an outstanding teammate, a natural leader, and someone who consistently brings a positive attitude to every game and practice. Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The player who inspires me the most is Will Smith. His positive attitude, the way he supports his teammates, and his mental toughness have taught me how to approach the game of baseball. No matter the situation, he stays positive, never lets adversity break him, and always competes at a high level. I hope to be like him one day—not just as a baseball player, but as a person both on and off the field.Off the field, my biggest inspiration is my dad.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Competing at Cooperstown AllStar village. Ivan’s performance and ability to lead his team through adversity was a very proud moment. When his team was down, he managed to insert a positive attitude in the dugout and brought his team back into a victory!
