Jace

What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jace loves competing, being part of a team, and having another chance to make a play, whether he is on the football field, basketball court, or baseball diamond. He enjoys all three sports, but football is definitely his favorite! He loves being right in the middle of the action and contributing wherever his team needs him. When he does play quarterback, he especially enjoys the opportunity to lead his team and have the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Jace is most inspired by his teammates. He truly cares about being someone they can count on, and I think the thought of letting them down pushes him to hold himself to a very high standard. He wants to do his job, make the right play, and give his best effort every time he steps on the field. Win or lose, being part of a team means something to him, and he takes that responsibility seriously.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I would say Jace’s third season of flag football. Something clicked, and he began making a name for himself, not only because of the big plays, but because of his attitude. He congratulated opponents, helped teammates up, and reminded them, “We’ll get them next time.” It was like he realized not only the player he could be, but who he could be for others. That kind of heart cannot be taught, and I am so proud of him.
