What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreJackson loves working to master the skills and plays to win his games as a team. He needs to move and compete at a high level to satisfy his competitive spirit. From a very young age, he has played many sports; soccer, football, flag football and basketball. His first love is basketball. He plays AAA competitive, plays for his school team, summer league, summer camps and in the park with pals!
Jackson is inspired by peers who are ranked in Canada and looks to them for training tips. He highly respects his coaches’ direction, his dad’s teaching and guidance and his mom is his biggest fan. Of course, he looks up to his favourite NBA player, Jalen Brunson.
Jackson made a U14 AAA team. He struggled at the halfway point of the season. Instead of complaining about his minutes he contacted the coaches and asked how he can improve. He successfully turned things around. The advice became a checklist for improvement. This summer has consisted of weight training, speed and precision drills, a summer league and cardio. He has even modified his food consumption and his eating habits have improved. He’s also cooking! He’s in top shape for next season!
