Jackson is most inspired by me, his mom. I have often shared with Jackson that my childhood wasn’t easy. I have taken him many times to my hometown of Hollis Queens, New York, and he has seen how many people weren’t as fortunate as me to make it out of my neighborhood. He is inspired by my dedication to education, my drive and my ability to overcome adversity. Coming out of poverty and earning three advanced degrees, allowing me to support him and his sister as a single parent.
Jackson has really matured over the last three years . He is self regulated. Jackson is serious about his studies, thus the advanced placement courses.. Jackson is serious about his health and nutrition, thus the switch to clean eating, adequate sleep and healthy workout habits. There is no one moment in his athletic journey, it’s his journey as a whole. Jackson takes being an athlete personal, and that makes me proud.. I’m proud of his effort, and his refusal to give up on or off the field
