What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jacob is all heart when it comes to basketball. He truly loves the game—the competition, the challenge of getting better, and most of all, being part of a team. Every time he steps on the court, he gives everything he has. Basketball isn’t just something he plays; it’s something he genuinely loves. His dedication, passion, and willingness to keep improving are what make the game so special to him.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

On the court, Jacob is inspired by Stephen Curry, his GOAT. He admires Steph’s incredible work ethic and the legacy he’s built. Off the court, his biggest inspiration is his grandma, Coco. At 69, she travels to his tournaments, cheers the loudest, makes sure he’s hydrated and fed, and then makes life an adventure—whether it’s Disneyland until midnight on his birthday or jumping off rocks into lakes. Coco reminds Jacob to work hard and enjoy life.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me proudest wasn’t a game or a trophy—it was watching Jacob refuse to give up. His trainer challenged him with a move that was extremely difficult. He practiced it hundreds of times, but just couldn’t get it. He went home and kept working. At the next training session, he struggled again, but finally got it. Then it clicked. Today, that same move comes naturally. I remind him often of that time and my favorite quote, “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work.” hard.
