What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jaida loves being a cheerleader and captain because she's not only part of team she also has responsibility for setting tone of team during every practice and competition and helping them build confidence. She takes pride with helping others grow and keeping others encouraged. She also loves the role of representing her school and her team. Her passion is to serve and to give back to others and she loves being able to do this with a sport she also loves.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her mother and grandmother's work ethic has shaped her into lady she's becoming. Watching them lead with love and compassion has taught her how to treat people. Seeing them face challenges but never give up has showed her how to be courageous and she's learned how to be confident but also humble. Most important she's learned to put God before all.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There was one time Jaida was sick but they had an important competition. When she decided she wanted to show up for team that was when I realized what being part of the team meant to her. She didn't come for herself, she came because of her commitment and understanding of the impact of her being there would have on the team. She pushed through her pain and showed how true athletes show up when it truly matters.
