What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jake loves everything about hockey—the speed, competition, friendships and the challenge of getting better every time he steps on the ice. The rink is his happy place. Whether it’s a game, practice, development session or just skating with friends oor on his own, he wants to be there. Hockey has given Jake confidence, purpose and a place where he can be completely himself. More than scoring goals, he loves competing, learning and being part of a team.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Connor Bedard inspires Jake because he represents what can happen when talent is matched with an incredible work ethic. Jake admires that Bedard achieved so much at such a young age but continues to work hard and improve his game. Seeing a young player succeed at the highest level motivates Jake to keep practising, challenging himself and chasing his own goals. To Jake, Bedard is proof that age doesn’t define what you’re capable of, your dedication, effort and belief in yourself do.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One unforgettable moment was watching Jake finish his very first season of hockey in March 2026 as one of his the league's top goal scorers, with 43 goals in 19 games. The numbers were incredible, but what they represented meant more. Hockey had become a place where a kid who had struggled with bullying could feel confident, capable and proud of himself. Watching him discover something he loved and realize just how much he was capable of was bigger than any goal or trophy.
