Learn MoreWhat he loves most about playing sports is being able to run around, have fun, and build strong friendships with his teammates. He enjoys being active, working together as a team, and creating memories with the friends he makes through soccer, baseball and basketball.
He is inspired by athletes both on & off the field. In soccer, he admires Emiliano Martínez, the goalkeeper for Argentina, for his confidence, determination, and ability to perform under pressure. In baseball, he is most inspired by the collegiate athletes at Cal State LA, whom he has had the opportunity to observe through his mother’s work as their athletic trainer. Seeing their dedication, discipline, and commitment to their sport motivates him to work hard and continue growing as an athlete.
One of my proudest moments is watching James honor his dad by wearing his number every time he plays. Just as special is seeing the incredible bonds he has formed with my athletes, many of whom have stepped into big brother and mentor roles. Knowing James is surrounded by people who love, guide, and support him both in sports and in life means more than words can express.
