What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What Jasiah loves most about basketball is the freedom to be creative and express himself on the court. He enjoys competing, challenging himself, and being able to make plays that help his team succeed. Most of all, he loves the feeling of getting better every day and seeing his hard work pay off.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Someone who inspires Jasiah both on and off the court is his mentor, who has taught him that becoming a great athlete starts with becoming a great person. He encourages Jasiah to stay disciplined, humble, focused, and committed to his goals. His guidance reminds Jasiah to work hard, believe in himself, and always represent himself and his family with pride.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of Jasiah’s proudest moments was when a former NBA player recognized his potential and invited him to live with his family and play alongside his son. It meant so much knowing someone at that level believed in him. Having another former NBA player, Derek Fisher, coach and help develop him toward the next level has been an incredible opportunity and motivation.
