What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jason Buret is a competitor, in the classroom and on the Basketball Court. The one thing I know Jason enjoys the most is meeting all the legends of the Game while having the opportunity to showcase his talents in front of all of them. Jason also enjoys the friendships with his teammates, Jason understands success comes from his support system keeping him focused and accountable and his friends having similar goals.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Michael Jordan inspires me because he never accepted being average. He faced failures early in his career, including being cut from his high school varsity basketball team, but instead of giving up, he used those setbacks as motivation to work harder. His relentless work ethic, discipline, and determination showed that success comes from dedication, sacrifice, and believing in yourself even when others doubt you. Competitive mindset and leadership skills most inspires me.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

What makes me the proudest is the resilience Jason shows when facing adversity. He understands that this journey is not easy, yet he wakes up every single day with the mindset of becoming just 1% better than he was the day before. Jason makes me proud because he knows he isn’t competing against anyone else—he’s competing against the person he was yesterday. He understands that this journey is about becoming the strongest, smartest, and most disciplined version of himself.
