Javon is inspired by his late cousin, Jaden, who tragically passed away at age 10, while on the football field from an undetected heart condition the day before they were set to spend the weekend together. On the field, Javon plays for his entire community, carrying Jaden’s passion and memory in every snap. Jaden’s memory drives Javon to never take a single day, practice, or game for granted.
One of my proudest moments was Javon’s first game back on the field after ACL surgery and months of grueling rehabilitation. After putting in countless hours of rehab, and some tears, he stepped back on that field and delivered a legendary performance, rushing 317 yards and two touchdowns. Seeing his determination pay off after such a hard journey showed his unstoppable character, heart, and love for the game.
