What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat he loves most about playing baseball is being part of a team and the excitement that comes with every game. He enjoys challenging himself to improve, learning new skills, and celebrating successes with his teammates. Baseball has taught him the importance of hard work, discipline, and perseverance, and he takes pride in giving his best effort every time he steps onto the field.
His biggest inspiration is his dad, who is also his coach. He looks up to him not only because of his knowledge of the game, but because of the example he sets every day. As his coach, his dad teaches him that success comes from hard work, discipline, and giving your best effort, while also showing him the importance of humility, respect, and being a great teammate.
One moment that makes me especially proud was watching him overcome self-doubt and grow into a confident teammate. Instead of getting discouraged after making mistakes, he chose to work harder, learn from every experience, and come back stronger. Seeing him encourage his teammates, celebrate their successes, and never give up—even in challenging moments—showed me that he was growing not just as a baseball player, but as a young man.
