What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jaylen loves football because it challenges him to become stronger, more disciplined, and a better teammate. He enjoys being part of a team, competing, and pushing himself to improve every time he steps on the field. Football gives him an opportunity to show his determination and prove that no matter what obstacles life puts in front of him, he can keep fighting, growing, and moving forward.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Jaylen is inspired by his family and the people who have continued to believe in him through every challenge. He has learned that strength is not just about what you can do physically it is also about having faith, refusing to give up, and continuing to move forward when life gets difficult. The love and encouragement of his family motivate him to work hard, stay humble, and become the best young man and athlete he can be.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moment is simply watching Jaylen step onto the football field after everything he has overcome. As a child, he faced a life-threatening medical battle that included meningitis, a stroke, and emergency brain surgery. There were moments when we were simply praying for his recovery. Today, watching him run onto that field, compete, and pursue what he loves means more to me than any touchdown or victory ever could. Every time he plays, I see a fighter, a survivor, and a blessing.
