What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jensen feels like he can be free when playing baseball. He has ADHD with anxiety and has said to me that when he steps onto the field, the overwhelming weight of anxiety fades into the background, replaced entirely by the rhythm of the game. Every movement requires his complete presence, forcing his mind to quiet its noise and channel that intense energy into the next play. It is more than just a passion; it is the one place where he is completely grounded, in control, and entirely at peace.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

For Jensen, mom inspires him on and off the field. In sports, she is his loudest cheerleader and the standard for hard work. In life, she is his anchor, teaching him how to manage anxiety, stay focused, and lead with kindness. Off the field, she has taught him how to channel stress into focus. On the field, her unwavering belief in him is the reason he fights for every single play.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Of all the moments I’ve shared with my son, the one that made me the absolute proudest was when he made the All-Stars team. It was only his second year ever playing the sport, yet he stepped onto that field with so much heart and dedication. Hearing so many of the coaches constantly praise his talent and talk about how naturally good he is was an incredible feeling. Watching his hard work pay off so quickly is something I will never forget.
