What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

she loves the energy that swimming and running bring her. She loves the challenges that are presented to her every time she participated in the sport. The difficulty that comes with being at such a high level is the problem solving and adaptability skills. This means she has to be willing to trust the process and understand that results don’t come overnight but when they do come they are worth it. That is the part she loves!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

while Jocelyn not only admires well known figures in swimming such as summer Mckintosh and Katie ledecky she is also motivated by her best friends. They are the reason she began swimming and running in the first place. They show up for her wich leafs her to show up for herself. They motivate her by supporting her goals and building her confidence. She wouldn’t be where she is without them and that thought alone motivates her. That and her competitive spirit of course.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that I will never forget in Jocelyn’s athletic journey was when she first began running. A swim coach had told her she wasn’t even good enough to learn the other strokes(one of wich took her to provincials this year) and she would never get remotely good at swimming. She didn’t swim after that. one of her best friends convinced her to try running and she absolutely loves it. after winning a few running races she went back to swim to prove she could, she coudl make it and be the best!
