He loves being part of a team and knowing that his hard work can help his teammates succeed. He can spend an entire weekend in the gym practicing because he genuinely loves the game.
I’d use Tracy McGrady here since you previously told me he’s your son’s favorite player. His answer could be: He is inspired by Tracy McGrady because of his talent, determination and dedication to basketball. He looks up to players who work hard, overcome challenges and continue improving. Off the court, his family inspires him to stay humble, respectful and hardworking. He knows that talent can take you far, but dedication and character are what truly set an athlete apart.
What makes me proudest is watching him play for three AAU teams this summer—Dream Chasers, Twin Hoops and Big Shots—and bring home a trophy from each one. He earned every opportunity through hard work, dedication and countless hours in the gym. Even with his success, he remains humble, respectful and committed to being a great teammate. Watching his hard work pay off while seeing the young man he is becoming makes me incredibly proud.
