What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Joe love's that with being on a team he feels included even though it is not your normal sports team. He loves that they do different sports throughout the year and at the end of the school year they go and participate with other schools in the state.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Besides us, his parents, he is inspired by Mrs. Willis the main teacher and coordinator of our schools Special Olympics team. She always makes sure that everyone is included at all times. She always brings a smile to his face.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Our proudest moment was 4 years ago when he won his first medal at his first state Special Olympics event.
