What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Joseph plays baseball and football, baseball being his first pick. Joseph says "I love the game because it allows me to have fun while being outside and making great friends." Baseball has taught him many aspects such as respect, accountability, leadership, and relying on his team which he will carry with him for the rest of his life.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Joseph says "My mom because she is always there cheering me on in the stands and she always helps me when I'm down or having a rough game. My Papaw also inspires me because he always gives me words of encouragement and helps me when he notices I do something wrong, he explains what I'm doing wrong then he shows me the right way of doing it."

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

It takes a lot for youth to fully grasp "You win some, and you loose some." However, Joseph's heart shines on and off of the field. He takes it upon himself to personally find players from other teams they have played, no matter whether they win or loose, and congratulate them or share words of encouragement about things he witnessed during the game. The first time he did this I couldn't have been more proud of his sportsmanship glowing after we lost a game before moving onto the championship.
