What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What Joseph loves most about sports is it being more than just a sport. He loves the feeling of competing, improving every day, and working together with his teammates toward a common goal. Playing left wing and CAM lets him be creative, make plays, and help my team. Soccer challenges him physically and mentally and no matter how tired he is , he always enjoy being on the field.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom is one of my biggest inspirations in soccer because she has always supported me and encouraged me to keep chasing my goals. She is always there for me through the hard days and reminds me to never give up when things don’t go my way. Seeing how hard she works and how much she believes in me motivates me to work harder, stay focused, and become the best soccer player and person I can be. I want to make her proud and show her that all of her support means something.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the things I am most proud of in my soccer career is signing my MLS NEXT contract with Blue Weiss Gottschee. Being part of a team that is ranked among the top teams in the country for the 2010 age group is a huge accomplishment for me and shows how much I have grown as a player. I am also proud of receiving invitations to play in the Y4YFC Nike Showcase, which gave me the opportunity to compete against high-level players and showcase my abilities.
