What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreJulia loves the challenge of becoming a little better every day. Swimming has taught her discipline, resilience, and confidence, but what she treasures most are the friendships, being part of a team, and pushing herself to achieve goals she once thought were out of reach. She loves that success in swimming is earned through hard work, consistency, and determination.
Julia is inspired by her parents, coaches, and teammates. They have taught her that character matters more than medals and that success comes from perseverance, humility, and treating others with kindness. She admires people who lead by example, work hard without seeking recognition, and continue to lift others up while pursuing their own goals.
The moment that makes me proudest isn’t a single race—it’s watching Julia continue to believe in herself through years of early mornings, setbacks, and relentless work. This past season, after earning lifetime bests and qualifying for Senior Championships, she proved that persistence pays off. More importantly, she remained humble, encouraged her teammates, and represented her family and team with integrity.
