What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I love the energy and the drive to get better every game and practice in both my sports, basketball and soccer. I also love seeing my teammates succeed and us improve as a team. Sports have also taught me it is okay to fail, it is how you respond to failure that matters. I love practicing a basketball move over and over in the driveway until I get it right. Both sports have taught me to work hard, show dedication and perseverance.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom inspires me on and off the field. I am 12 years old and recently tore my ACL and meniscus requiring surgery. I have had to be mentally tough and ready for the next 9-12 months of rehab. My mom has been there by my side the whole time, giving tips, helping with stretches and making sure I get to PT. She inspires me because she also tore her ACL when she was young and basketball was her life. She has taught me to never give up on my dreams, no matter what.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Kaitlyn is an athlete who gives 110% effort every time she steps foot on the field or court. She helped lead her town soccer team to the CT state cup championship in 2025 & 2026 and leads her basketball team as a point guard. Seeing Kaitlyn’s resilience and determination after tearing her ACL at only 12 years old has been inspiring. Not once has she said “why me” or “I can’t do this”. She looks at the positives, taking advantage of the time to improve individual skills and gain mental strength.
