What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Kamyh really loves the excitement, competition, and teamwork that basketball brings. He enjoys challenging himself, improving his skills, making big plays, and contributing to his team’s success. He especially loves the feeling of being on the court, giving his best, and learning from every game. Basketball allows him to express his passion, build confidence, make friendships, and push himself to become a stronger and better player.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Kamyh is inspired by LeBron James and by his dad, a former high school basketball player, who guides him on and off the court and helps him develop the skills to contribute to his team’s success. His mother and grandmother are his biggest supporters, ensuring he is prepared and well-fed for training and games. His extended family and elementary school principals also encourage him, with principals even joining him on the school court.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest basketball moment was scoring two straight 3-pointers in the championship game and helping my team win the championship. Everyone was cheering and lifted me up in celebration. That season, I also won my third MVP award. I remember people calling me “Kawhi Leonard,” which made me feel incredibly proud. Having my family there, cheering me on, made the moment even more special and unforgettable.
