One of my favorite parts of playing sports is the friendships and strong bonds I’ve built with my teammates. We get to spend time together, support each other, and create memories that I’ll carry with me. Sports have also helped me develop new skills while building my confidence, discipline, and perseverance. But one of the best feelings is the excitement and adrenaline during a game- the energy, the competition, and the feeling of giving all I have on the field/court make every moment worth it.
My mom has always been one of my biggest supporters. No matter how busy she is, she always makes time to take me to and from every game and practice, cheering me on throughout the entire season. Whenever I feel nervous or scared, she knows exactly how to make me feel comfortable and confident. Her encouragement reminds me that I can handle challenges and pushes me to keep giving my best. I’m so grateful to have her by my side every step of the way.
Making a travel team more than three times in a row and earning a spot on the highest-level is definitely a proud moment. Also, this year, my high school, unfortunately, was set to be closed. With that, a coach from another school recognized my skills and recruited me to their school which isn’t a public school. I was so surprised and proud of my hard work paying off.
