What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreShe loves the constant contact with teammates and the friendships she has built. These are girls outside of her school friends. She looks forward to practices and spending time with them. Volleyball is a unique sport that allows the girls to connect and reset after each point. And I think this gives them a special bond.
Coach Jes! She makes her want to work hard on the court to be the best volleyball player she can be and to also be a supportive teammate. Girl sports can be difficult. When kindness and sportsmanship are expected of the girls, it is impressive to watch!
I don’t think I could pick just one. We try not to focus on one hit, one pass, or one tournament win. But she did set a goal to be one of the female athletes for her grade and she achieved that her 6th grade year. She participated on the volleyball, basketball, track, and tennis team. She also made cheerleading for this upcoming year. The work that went into balancing these sports at school, participating in club volleyball, and making Honor Roll is what helped her achieve that goal.
